I purchased these from simplenatural on eBay, and wasn’t sure whether or not I was going to be able to do what I wanted to do with these. I am just starting to experiment with DIY beauty and health products, and I wanted my first project to be lip balm. Both my husband and I use lip balm, neither of us drink enough water, and therefore our lips are often dry. So I found a good recipe but needed to put it in something, so I searched for lip balm tubes, and this one seemed to be the best price. I am completely happy with these. I made my first batch last night, and every lid fit every tube perfectly. None of the tubes leaked, and the mechanism that turns to push the balm up works flawlessly on each. I will definitely buy these again (although it will be awhile before I use all these…50 is a lot for the amateur!
I love this cup. I bought it for microwaving natural ingredients for DIY projects and it is working great. I got mine at Walmart, and haven’t had any problems with the markings coming off like other reviewers have claimed. Maybe the manufacturer changed something, but I am very satisfied.
I bought these at Walmart because I had read in a recipe for DIY lip balm that Vitamin E oil is a great addition to make the health benefits even better. I will not buy gel caps again for that purpose. I am very new to this hobby, and I didn’t know you could buy a bottle of all natural vitamin e oil, so that is what I will do in the future. I will use these and add them to my daily vitamin ritual since this form of vitamin E is supposed to be good for the heart and immune system, and a lot of folks report good side-effects affecting their fingernails and hair.
My husband and I discovered using coconut oil about six months ago, but the brand we bought them had such a strong coconut taste, that baked goods were about the only thing I could use it for. I bought this at BJs because I knew my usage of coconut oil was going to increase as I began replacing our health and beauty products with homemade and I wanted to incorporate it into our diets more. This has a very slight coconut aroma, but not one that transfers to the cooked food. I am linking the amazon page for it, but it is sooo much cheaper at BJs or Sams Club (if you have membership(s)). High Quality Product (in my humble opinion)
I bought this in preparation of making a few all natural beauty products, since organic and DIY seems to be my new hobby. I chose this particular brand because of the price, and I didn’t want to buy in bulk since I didn’t know if I would continue the hobby. I am glad I did. The only thing I have used it for so far is a DIY Lip Balm. The recipe only called for 1 Tablespoon, so 4 oz. is enough to supply a grocery store chain with lip balm :D. I am going to be making other things, so I may end up ordering more, but this size package was perfect for me. Now, as far as the quality goes, I am no expert. All I know is that the pestilles make measuring a breeze, and while it took a long time for them to melt, they blended perfectly with my other ingredients and the end product (on my first attempt), turned out perfect. No complaints at all!
I purchased this Shea Butter from EBay and the seller adoranaturalproducts. It was shipped free and quickly, and while I am no expert on these things, it was packaged securely and the label has a listing of many different uses for it. It was pretty inexpensive. I have used it twice so far, once straight from the package on my hands, and the effect was immediate. My skin felt softer than it has in years, and the effect lasted all day. The second thing I used it for was in a recipe for homemade lip balm. It melted perfectly, no grittiness at all, and incorporated perfectly with the coconut oil and beeswax and the other ingredients I used. I will buy this again, and am completely happy with my purchase!
This is the second steamer I have owned, and while the other one is bigger and holds more water, it was designed more for larger jobs. This little baby is amazing. I must confess two things in this review. The first is that I am a horrible housekeeper. My kitchen stove is disgusting, and the first test this baby got was cleaning around and under the burners that hadn’t been cleaned in a really long time. I had tried to use 409 first, and it didn’t make a dent in the gunk. So I followed the directions on this steamer, first taking the lid off. It was really frustrating until I read the directions and it literally takes 7 turns to remove the lid. Then using the measuring cup that came with it, I filled the tank with the little funnel (also included). Then screwed the lid back on (another 7 turns) and plugging it in, then the waiting. The instructions are very clear about waiting 3-5 minutes for full heat to be reached, but I was impatient and pressed the button after about a minute and a half, and a stream of extremely hot water shot out. Suitable chastised, I waited another 2 minutes and perfect, scalding hot steam shot out and melted the gunk so very quickly. Both my husband and I were amazed to find that the pan under the burner was actually silver rather than black, I can’t wait to use it again. No complaints and highly recommended.
